Ms. Ume Farwa is Research Fellow and Sub-editor at the Institute of Strategic Studies Islamabad (ISSI). She is a gold-medalist in M.Sc. International Relations from National University of Modern Languages (NUML) Islamabad. She also worked as a script writer at AIOU Media Broadcasting Centre. She has been working on many issues related to Pakistan and China. Her area of research is South-South cooperation, international political economy, sustainable development and global climate change. She also covers the opportunities for Pakistan coming from changing global economic landscape and international power structure. She presented her papers in various seminars and conferences:
- Accessing Soft Power of America: Pakistan a Case Study at a Seminar, Soft Power, held at NUML, Islamabad;
- Alleviating Pakistan’s Energy Crisis at the seminar, National Security: Pakistan’s Energy Requirement organized by ISSI
- Pakistan’s Soft Power and Knowledge Economy at the seminar, Pakistan’s Soft Power, organized by ISSI;
- Currently, she is has been working on accessing the prospects of CPEC as a model of South-South Cooperation
Currently, she edited a book, CPEC: a Game Changer which is a joint venture of Pakistani and Chinese scholars. Also, as a sub-editor of ISSI journal, she has been editing research papers and manuscripts on diverse topic: international relations, history, public policy, governance and strategic studies. So far, she has been co-editing peer-reviewed research papers and helping publish issues of ISSI journal.
