Multilateralism in Indian Foreign Policy, Maldives, Bhutan

Ms. Ume Farwa was Researcher at India Study Center (ISC), ISSI and covers Indian foreign policy overtures in multilateral institutions like, United Nations (UN), BRICS, G-20, SCO, ASEAN, Maldives, Bhutan and others. She has an M.Phil. in International Relations (IR) from National University of Modern Languages (NUML). She is a Gold Medalist in Masters in International Relations from NUML.

She co-edited a book, “CPEC: a Game Changer” which is a joint venture of Pakistani and Chinese scholars and, in the capacity sub-editor of ISSI journal, edited research papers and manuscripts on diverse topic: international relations, history, public policy, governance and strategic studies.

Currently, she is working on alternative knowledge perspectives in IR – termed as ‘Global IR’ – particularly on Sufi Theory of IR. She has been working on Global IR and contributing perspectives from Pakistan in this newly emerging field by factoring in the Sufi insights of Pakistani Spiritual scholar of international repute and the recent head of Sufi Order Azeemia, Khawaja Shamsuddin Azeemi, into ‘Global IR’.
