A Departing Perspective

The Institute of Strategic Studies organised a Public Talk under its Ambassadors Platform on “The Future of UK-Pakistan Relations: A Departing Perspective” on February 3, 2016. The distinguished speaker at the occasion was the British High Commissioner to Pakistan, H.E. Mr. Phillip Barton CMG OBE.

The Director General of ISSI, Ambassador Masood Khan in his welcome remarks said that Ambassador Phillip Barton had been very popular among the people since he attended many social, political and strategic events in the country. He could rightly be called the ‘people’s ambassador’ who needed no introduction. He worked for the causes of education and health for Pakistan. He was an outstanding diplomat who played an instrumental role in negotiations of the Gibraltar Constitution. Furthermore, his singular achievement was working for different issues in Afghanistan and Pakistan in various capacities.
