ISLAMABAD: Members of Senate on Thursday demanded the government push Palestine’s independence to the top of its foreign policy agenda instead of “exploiting Palestinians’ plight for political gains like other Muslim countries are doing”.

The issued was raised by Senator Muhammad Usman Khan Kakar. He urged the government to highlight the miseries of the Palestinians at all international forums. “Some Muslim countries have been exploiting miseries of the Palestinians for their personal and political gains rather than making sincere efforts for Palestine’s independence,” he said. Kakar also urged the government not to become part of any coalition that harms the Palestinians’ struggle of independence against Israel.
