Monday, November 16, 2015 – THE deadly Paris attacks left 129 dead (at the time of writing this piece) and 352 injured with 100 in critical condition. Paris is mourning and with it the entire world. Terrorists and their backers have enforced their macabre logic of retaliation and retribution on civilians. We in Pakistan felt instant empathy because the massacre in Paris has opened our wounds of frequent brutal terrorist attacks planned abroad and executed on Pakistani soil.
This is a moment of grief not just for the Parisians but for humanity.
World leaders and statesmen have condemned these attacks. France has termed them as an act of war and vowed to take action. But once again, the world needs to determine the underlying causes of these dastardly crimes and try to remove them.
