Areas of Research:

Major power competition, maritime security in the Indian Ocean region, elitism and security policy in Pakistan

Muneeb Salman was a Research Associate at the China Pakistan Study Centre, ISSI. His areas of interest include security studies, major power competition, elitism and security policy of Pakistan with a focus on Pakistan-China relations and CPEC.

He has previously worked at the Islamabad Policy Research Institute (IPRI) and Maritime Study Forum, Islamabad. He has also worked with a senior academic as a Research Assistant for more than a year and has led the pioneer student Social Media Team at the Department of International Relations, National Defence University. In October 2021, he was the youngest member at the age of 22 to join the research faculty of a public sector think tank.

Mr. Salman received BS and MPhil degrees in International Relations from the National Defence University, Pakistan, where he received the President’s Gold Medal for the Spring 2022 academic session. He has also received research and professional training at the University of Lausanne, Switzerland, and Ada University, Azerbaijan.
