ISLAMABAD: Foreign Office spokesperson Nafees Zakaria on Thursday said that the defence build-up pursued by India would disturb stability in the region.
At a weekly press briefing, Zakaria expressed Pakistan’s concern over the exceptional treatment being meted out to New Delhi by the Nuclear Supplier Group, saying, “Pakistan seeks peace in the region and is therefore against any arms race.” The spokesperson categorically rejected any obstacles in the way of Pakistan-India foreign secretary level talks. He said both the sides are in touch with each other to work out mutually convenient dates for the talks. Zakaria said Pakistan had condemned Pathankot terrorist attack and in this regard a special investigation team would visit India in the next few days to collect evidences about the airbase attack.
