ISLAMABAD: An inter-ministerial meeting was held at the Foreign Office on Monday to review Pakistan’s preparations for the Post-2015 Development Agenda (PDA-15), which would be adopted during the 70th session of the UN General Assembly (UNGA) in New York later this month.
Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif is expected to lead the Pakistani delegation to the UN summit. The 15-year Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) adopted in 2000 would be followed by the new Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) for the period 2016-2030. Comprising 17 goals and 169 targets, the SDGs encompass all three dimensions of sustainable development – economic, social and environmental.
