Nawaz visit reflective of strong Pak-US ties: State Dept

WASHINGTON: The United States (US) has said that the visit of the Pakistani prime minister to the US is reflective of the strong ties between the two countries.

US State Department Spokesman Mark Toner told a media briefing in Washington that the meeting between Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and President Barack Obama was very successful and said the visit overall highlighted America’s “strong and growing relationship” with Pakistan. He said the visit provided an opportunity to strengthen the US cooperation on a range of issues, including economic growth, trade, investment, clean energy, nuclear security and regional stability.
