While students and teachers at Bacha Khan University, near Charsadda in Pakistan, were busy with a poetry recital commemorating the death anniversary of Khan Abdul Ghaffar Khan, gunmen stormed the campus killing around thirty people and injuring scores. Educational institutions in Pakistan had faced frequent attacks ever since the Taliban took hold of the Swat Valley in the early 2000s but this was a living nightmare.
