ISLAMABAD: Pakistan on Thursday urged India to honour its commitment with regard to observing ceasefire on the Line of Control and Working Boundary.

The response came two days after a Pakistani soldier was killed due to “unprovoked” Indian firing in Battal Sector of Rawlakot in the disputed Kashmir. The incident occurred few days after Pakistani border officers met with their Indian counterparts in New Delhi and agreed to prevent skirmishes on the border, which also cause civilian casualties on both sides. During weekly briefing in Islamabad on Thursday, Foreign Office spokesman Qazi Khalilullah said, “There was a disconnect between what we are told by the Indian side and the ground reality.”
