Pakistan’s Chief of Army Staff Raheel Sharif said Sunday that the South Asian nation will continue to battle terrorism while it is ready to defend and “inflict a humiliating defeat” on any external aggressor.

In a speech in Rawalpindi marking Pakistan’s Defense Day–which commemorates people who died in the 1965 war with India–General Sharif said “if the enemy ever resorts to any misadventure, regardless of its size and scale, it will have to pay an unbearable cost.”
