The Centre for Afghanistan, Middle East & Africa (CAMEA) at the Institute of Strategic Studies Islamabad (ISSI) organised a Tuesday Dialogue on “Evolving Situation in Afghanistan: Prospects for Pakistan” on July 13, 2021.
The participants included: Ambassador Aizaz Ahmad Chaudhry, Director General, Institute of Strategic Studies Islamabad Ambassador Khalid Mahmood, Chairman, Institute of Strategic Studies Islamabad Amina Khan, Director Centre for Afghanistan, Middle East & Africa; Ambassador (Retd.) Asif Durrani; Ambassador (Retd.) Ayaz Wazir; Lt. Gen. (Retd.) Syed Sabahat Hussain; Mr. Oves Anwar, Director of Research, Research Society of International Law (RSIL); Dr. Salma Malik, Assistant Professor Department of Defence and Strategic Studies, Quaid-i-Azam University (QAU); Dr. Simbal Khan, Senior Fellow United Nations Development Programme (UNDP); Mr. Tahir Khan, Independent Journalist, Mr. Hassan Khan, Independent Journalist and the CAMEA research team.
The discussion revolved around the current state of affairs in Afghanistan, prospects for a peaceful settlement as well as future of Pakistan-Afghanistan relations.
