Visit of Joint Study Tour: Centre for International Strategic Studies Sindh (CISSS) and Balochistan Think Tank Network (BTTN)

The Arms Control & Disarmament Centre (ACDC) at the Institute of Strategic Studies Islamabad (ISSI) hosted a Joint Study Tour of the Centre for International Strategic Studies, Sindh (CISSS) and Balochistan Think Tank Network (BTTN). Brigadier (Retd) Agha Ahmad Gul, Founding Head BTTN, headed the 60-member delegation. Ambassador Qazi M. Khalilullah, Executive Director CISSS and Dr Zafar Khan, Executive Director BTTN, also accompanied the delegation.  

Malik Qasim Mustafa, Director ACDC, gave a comprehensive presentation on the overall working of the Institute as well as the Centre. During the interactive session with Ambassador Aizaz Ahmad Chaudhry, Director General ISSI, there was an extensive exchange of views regarding the Ukraine crisis, Islamophobia, deteriorating global arms control regime, emerging technologies, Indian military modernisation and cooperation with the US. Ambassador Chaudhry also highlighted the major security challenges faced by Pakistan like the increasing Hindu extremism in India, the post-US withdrawal situation in Afghanistan, the humanitarian crisis in Kashmir, the balancing act in the face of China-US competition and Saudi-Iran rivalry, non-traditional security threats like Climate Change, food security, etc.
