ISLAMABAD: Death toll from the disastrous earthquake that hit on Monday has reached 320.

Rescue and relief activities continued on Tuesday. Pakistan Army, provincial authorities and other organisations were taking part in the relief operation. According to reports, 320 people have died so far across the country in earthquake related incidents. About 1,700 people were injured and are being treated at different hospitals. Thousands of houses were razed to ground. Thousands of people in the quake-hit areas spent the night outdoors in near-freezing temperatures reluctant to go back inside for fear of aftershocks. Serious problems are in store for the survivors, rescuers, and local residents in the mountainous northern regions.
