US not playing referee between Iran, S. Arabia: State Department

WASHINGTON: The United States has no desire to play referee in the dispute between Saudi Arabia and Iran and was not looking for another referee either, says the US State Department, said on Wednesday.

But in a series of news briefings on the Saudi-Iran dispute, the department’s spokesman John Kirby acknowledged that the repercussions of this dispute would go beyond the borders of these two countries.
