The estimated $10 billion gas pipeline project between Turkmenistan, Afghanistan, Pakistan and India, also known as TAPI gas pipeline, officially inaugurated construction on November 13 2015. The ground-breaking ceremony was attended by Afghanistan president Ashraf Ghani, Turkmenistan President Gurbanguly Berdymuhamedov, Pakistan Prime Minister Nawaze Sharif and Indian vice president Muhammad Hamid Ansari. The approximately 1,800 km-long pipeline is planned to be completed by end of 2018. The TAPI gas pipeline will deliver about 33 billion cubic meter (BCM).
