Asma Siddiq was Policy Consultant at China-Pakistan Study Centre (CPSC), Institute of Strategic Studies Islamabad (ISSI). She is a graduate of International Relations (IR) from the School of Politics and International Relations (SPIR), Quaid-e-Azam University, Islamabad. She holds an MPhil degree from SPIR, QAU. She specializes in International Relations, Foreign Policy Analysis, Strategic Studies, International Political Economy, Regional Economic Integration, South and Central Asian Regional Politics, and Human Security. She has worked with multiple renowned international development organizations and research think tanks including International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC), Center for Global and Strategic Studies (CGSS), Institute of Peace and Diplomatic Studies (IPDS), Islamabad Policy Research Institute (IPRI) and others. She is a recipient of the prestigious HSF Research Fellowship (2022) at the Hanns Seidel Foundation (HSF), Islamabad. Her research paper “Low Politics and Functional Integration in South Asia” was presented at the international conference “Challenges to Bilateral Pakistan-Afghanistan Dialogue and their Solutions”. She has contributed in multiple policy briefs, research/Oped articles and policy dialogues.

Her current research assignment focuses on China, Pakistan-China Relations, CPEC, Central Asia, The Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO), Central Asian Regional Politics, Security and Economy of Central Asia, Pakistan-Central Asia Relations, Regional Economic Integration, Regionalism and Regionalization in South and Central Asia.
