Pakistan making efforts for Afghan talks: Sartaj Aziz

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan is making efforts to resume Afghanistan-Taliban talks that were sabotaged following the revelation of the death of Mullah Omar’ in July, Advisor to PM on National Security and Foreign Affairs Sartaj Aziz told the Senate. Advisor to PM on Foreign Affairs Sartaj Aziz while presenting report on the death of former Taliban chief Mullah Omar to the Upper House of the Parliament said “Pakistan had contradicted the news that Mullah Omar died in a hospital in Karachi two years ago. The news surfaced just two days before the second round of reconciliation talks between Taliban and Afghanistan,” he said.
