Delegation from the UAE National Defence College

Institute of Strategic Studies Islamabad (ISSI) hosted a delegation from the UAE National Defence College. The delegation was headed by Brig. Mohammad Hamad Khalifa Al Kaabi.
Dr Talat Shabbir, Director China-Pakistan Study Centre (CPSC) at ISSI gave an overview of the Institute’s structure and activities. He also gave an assessment of regional and global politics and their impact on Pakistan. Ms Amina Khan, Director Centre for Afghanistan, Middle East & Africa (CAMEA) at ISSI gave a briefing about the situation in Afghanistan. Brig. Mohammad Hamad Khalifa Al Kaabi appreciated ISSI’s contribution in the domain of research and policy. He underscored the importance of having a deeper understanding of the international environment in order to formulate policies that address global interests.
The briefing was also followed by an interactive discussion.
