A senior American official has said that there is increasing recognition in Pakistan to fight Afghan Taliban in order to defeat Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) – the primary group of insurgents in Pakistan that has carried out some deadly attacks in the country including the 2014 attack at a school in Peshawar which left around 250 people killed and wounded, most of them school children.
“I think there is increasingly a recognition on the part of the government of Pakistan that there is significant bleed over between the Pakistani Taliban and the Afghan Taliban.
