China has witnessed unparalleled growth in the last four decades in every field of life, agriculture is one of these spheres where China has succeeded in integrating modern tech with farming. Today, China is known for its advanced agriculture science and sophisticated tools it uses for agricultural purposes. China is the world’s second largest economy with the top agricultural producer by volume and second-largest agricultural importer by value.[1]
The total arable land of China is amounted approximately1.28 million sq km (490,000 sq miles) by the end of 2019,[2] 12.68 % of China’s total land is fertile and appropriate for farming.[3] According to statistics, China feeds over 22% of world population and 23% of world’s total rice is produced in China.[4] Reports suggest that around 25% of China’s total workforce is in the agricultural industry.[5] This tells us just how important the Chinese agricultural industry is to the people of China and to the world.
