Malik Qasim Mustafa is a Director (Arms Control and Disarmament Centre) at the Institute of Strategic Studies, Islamabad, since 2003. He holds an M. Phil (2001) & M.Sc. (1998) degrees in Defence and Strategic Studies, from Quaid-i-Azam University, Islamabad. He is a Graduate of Executive Course (2006) from Asia-Pacific Centre for Security Studies, Honolulu, Hawaii, US. He is an International Law Fellow from Research Society of International Law (2004), Lahore, Pakistan (RSIL). He has done courses on International law (2004) and International Humanitarian Law (2005) from International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC), Islamabad and from the UN High Commission for Refugees (UNHCR) and National Law School of India University (NLSIU) Bangalore, India. He has completed many other certificate courses and workshops on issues related to his area of research. His main areas of research are Nuclear Issues, Arms Control and Disarmament, Terrorism, India-Pakistan relations, International Law, Environmental Security and issues related to national security interests of Pakistan.
