There is a good reason for focusing on increasing Pakistan’s trade with the countries in the region in which it is located. This will help to turn trade into a driver of economic growth and economic change. Trade has been neglected in the past in part because the country had access to foreign savings rather than export earnings to finance the development of the domestic economy.
