The Institute of Strategic Studies hosted the 3rdCoordination Meeting of Think Tank on March 14, 2019 at its premises. The main intention of the coordination between Think Tanks is to identify crucial topics affecting Pakistan and to avoid overlapping.
The two main agenda items of the 3rd coordination meeting involved: one, to carry forward the previous agenda; and second, to focus on the regional and global trends affecting Pakistan. Participating Think Tanks emphasized that Pakistan faces profound challenges in every domain and all Think Tanks carry the same agenda of working for Pakistan. It was decided that each think tank will appoint a focal person for representation and also to identify the core capability of each Think Tank. It was decided that the meetings will be held every quarter, whereas the focal persons may meet once a month. Furthermore, the participants were also of the view that it was important to forge linkages between think tanks and government departments, as well as universities. Moreover, it is important to work at the grass root level and be proactive in research and topic selection to help build a better narrative of Pakistan. It is important that along with internal, the external audience also needs to be addressed.
