China-Pakistan Study Centre (CPSC) at the Institute of Strategic Studies Islamabad (ISSI) organised a roundtable discussion with a 6-member delegation from Guizhou Provincial Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) on January 1, 2020. The delegation was led by H.E Mr. Chen Jian, Vice-Chairman, Guizhou Provincial Committee of CPPCC. Other members of the delegation included: Mr. Wang Jinjiang, Deputy Secretary- General/Deputy Director General, Guizhou Provincial Committee of the CPPCC/General Office of Guizhou Provincial Committee of the CPPCC; Ms. Gong Ning, Associate Inspector, Guizhou Provincial Education Department; Mr. Li Jianjun, Party Secretary, Guizhou University; Mr. Zhang Xueli, Party Secretary, Guizhou Minzu University; Ms. Hong Yun, Division Chief, International Exchange and Cooperation Division of Guizhou University. Experts from outside ISSI also attended the roundtable discussion.
Ms Uroosa Khan, Associate Editor, CPSC gave a brief introduction of activities carried out at the institute. In his introductory remarks, Dr. Talat Shabbir, Director CPSC extended a warm welcome to all the distinguished guests. While stating the objectives of the roundtable, Dr. Shabbir said that it is aimed to generate ideas in pursuit of cooperation and create synergy among the two organizations. He further said that it is important to highlight educational and cultural aspects of Pakistan-China relations and deliberate on how various avenues of cooperation can be identified between both the countries.
